The One True God
The Name Allāh means The One True God, The Only Being worthy of worship, love, and absolute devotion.
It is not derived from any root — it is unique, beyond comparison, and includes within it all the other Names and Attributes.
Everything begins and ends with Allāh.
When you say Ar-Raḥmān, it is His mercy. When you say Al-ʿAdl, it is His justice. When you say As-Sabūr, it is His patience. But when you say Allāh, you mean all of them together — the perfect unity of every perfection.
[Surah Al-Ikhlāṣ (112:1–4)] (https://www.alislam.org/quran/app/112)
Proclaim: He is Allah, the Single; Allah, the Self-Existing and Besought of all. He begets not, nor is He begotten. And there is none equal to Him in His attributes.
Imam al-Ghazālī: "The Name Allāh gathers together every other name of perfection. When you call upon Him with this Name, you invoke the totality of His being."
Ibn al-Qayyim: "'Allāh' is the Name that melts hearts, awakens love, and inspires worship. It is the secret of every prayer and the soul of every act of goodness."
"'Allāh' is the greatest Name — in it are gathered all His attributes, and through it alone can one truly know the Living God." Malfūẓāt, Vol. 3, p. 520
"When the heart says 'Allāh' with truth, it feels as though the universe bows in peace. Every sorrow turns to light." Barāhīn-e-Ahmadiyya, Part 5
The Name Allāh calls believers to embody unity — to combine mercy, justice, wisdom, and patience in daily life. Every good deed, every honest word, every act of love becomes worship when done for Allāh.
Since Allāh is the embodiment of all perfection, reflection upon this Name requires continuous striving for excellence in every human and spiritual attribute.
The service to humanity is not just a reflection of one attribute (like mercy), but of the totality of Allāh's character. Serve with absolute honesty, justice, and compassion combined.
